The Analytik Jena UVP Crosslinker CL-3000 is a microprocessor-controlled UV irradiation system built to deliver precise, reproducible UV dosing for a range of laboratory and disinfection applications. It’s most commonly used for crosslinking DNA and RNA to nylon or nitrocellulose membranes in Southern, Northern, Dot, and Slot Blot protocols, but its capabilities extend to elimination of PCR contamination, UV-induced mutation studies, and biomolecular crosslinking. The unit features a built-in radiometer calibrated to a NIST-traceable standard, giving it near-uniform UVC output with just a 10% coefficient of variation and less than 2 mJ/cm² difference between the highest and lowest reading across the exposure chamber — a level of consistency that eliminates the need for end-user calibration. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the CL-3000 also gained additional use for UVGI-based disinfection workflows, capable of disinfecting up to six N95 respirator masks in five minutes. Its aluminum UV exposure chamber, protective quartz sensor disk, and durable, easy-to-clean keypad and housing reflect Analytik Jena’s focus on long-term reliability in demanding lab and healthcare environments.
