The Liconic LPX220 is a compact microplate hotel designed for efficient, ambient storage of SBS-format microplates in automated laboratory environments. It’s the successor to Liconic’s legacy 189-plate MPH (Micro Plate Hotel), offering an increased 220 MTP capacity, faster access speed, and significantly greater integration flexibility. The system uses a carousel-based hotel design with a spring-balanced lift mechanism (replacing the older counterweight-based approach), optimizing both speed and long-term reliability. It’s particularly well suited for workflows requiring fast plate buffering or intermediate storage, such as high-throughput screening, compound management, and assay staging. A standout feature is its ability to be integrated in four different orientations — left, right, back, and side access — all made possible by a single system, giving labs significant flexibility when incorporating it into larger robotic workcells alongside readers, incubators, and liquid handlers.
