The Waters 717plus Autosampler injects samples into a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system. The Waters 717plus automates sampling by storing up to 96 sampling methods or “steps”. Each method controls all injection parameters for a sequence of vials.
The Waters 717plus may be used as either a stand-alone unit or as a component in a Waters IEEE-488 based HPLC system. As part of an IEEE-488 based system, the autosampler may be controlled by Waters PowerLine System Controllers or Waters Data Workstations.
The Beckman Avanti J-20 High Performance Centrifuge is a rapid solution for pelleting bacteria and other solids. Its large chamber can accommodate the Beckman J-LITE JLA-1.8000—a rotor specifically made for applications which require speedy, large-scale centrifugation. The high rotor flexibility of the Avanti J-20 makes it the ideal centrifuge for users that spin sizeable volumes using high-speed rotors. Generally, this Beckman model can reach over 51, 500 x g with various other Beckman rotors.
Integrated with a high-torque switch-reluctance (SR) Drive, the Beckman J-20 centrifuge allows users to significantly reduce processing time. The innovative “Smart FRS” (Friction Reduction System) also offers larger volumes and greater separation forces. Moreover, dynamic rotor inertia check is employed to provide proper rotor identification and maximum user safety.
The balance features convenient Touch-Screen and Hands-Off operation. By the Hands-Off feature opening and closing the glass draft shield or zeroing the balance can be done without touching any buttons. Balance operating menu allows to adapt the balance to weighing conditions, select calibration function, auto zero correction, primary and info weighing units, language and interface output parameters.
The balance draft shield consists of 3 glass doors: top door, left side door and right side door. The each side door can be engaged with the top door to move together or each door can be moved separately. There is one touch button or hands-off or auto motorized movement of the doors or they can be moved manually. The hands-off movement of the glass doors is provided by “SmartSens” sensors located at the right and left sides of the terminal.
Benchmark’s PlateFuge™ is the first “mini” sized centrifuge with a swing out rotor for microplates. Centrifuging plates before PCR ensures all reactants are in the bottom of the wells for proper concentrations and improved yields. In spite of its remarkably small footprint (9×10 in.), the PlateFuge™ includes a uniquely designed, swing out rotor (patent pending) capable of securing 2 microplates. The easily accessible rotor chamber includes two plate carriers that rest at a 75° angle. This allows plates to be inserted confidently without sealing tapes or caps. Upon closing the lid of the centrifuge, the rotor accelerates and the centrifugal force “swings” the plates into a horizontal position. Any droplets on the walls of the plate quickly concentrate into the well bottoms. With a g-force of 600 xg, most samples can be spun down in less than 20 seconds. To end a run, simply open the lid and the automatic, electric brake brings the rotor to a quick, smooth stop in just 4 seconds. Plates can then be easily removed from the rotor.
