The Thermo Scientific Hypercenter XP, also called the Shandon Hypercenter XP is a computer-controlled, fluid transfer tissue processor with automated fixation, dehydration, cleaning and paraffin infiltration features for tissue specimens. The Shandon Hypercenter XP features a Reagent Storage Module that does not allow reagent fumes to vent into laboratory atmosphere while it is in operation. This Shandon tissue processor also carries a flexible air bag which maximizes the system's air capacity, and an emergency carbon filter is utilized as an additional safety feature and only works if there is excess pressure. The Hypercenter XP tissue processor is design with an organized capacity of 180 cassettes, and can be configured as either a floor model or bench-top model. The Hypercenter XP enhances workflow with its One Command Module that can control up to five reaction and storage modules for processing capacity of up to 900 cassettes per load. Additionally, the multi-lingual processor software XP allows the operator to save as much as 9 customized programs and accommodate year 2000 changes. The Hypercenter XP Portable Wax Station also offers the option of a third wax bath which can be used as a final cleaning stage in the wax impregnation of specimens. The Wax Station can be conveniently located to the side of the Hypercenter XP Reaction Module, so that wax-impregnated specimens can be transported safely to an embedding station without messy wax spillages.
The instrument provides samples of uniform and reproducible thickness, minimizes damage to surfaces of slices and thereby eliminates the main sources of error in tissue slice work. Slices from approximately 100 to 500 microns in thickness can be prepared at a maximum rate of one slice every 3 to 4 seconds. The slicer operates submerged in a buffer selected by the operator as most appropriate in terms of composition, tonicity, pH, temperature, oxygenation and lubricating properties to maintain the viability of the tissues being sectioned. The microtome and the reservoir with the glass trap are sterilizable to allow the preparation of aseptic slices suitable for prolonged organ culture. The actual slicing is done by a rapidly reciprocating disposable blade oscillating at 1000 to 2500 rpm driven by a motor that also powers the impeller. The tissue slicer contains a cooling block which allows the temperature of the buffer solution in the slicer’s reservoir to be maintained.

Thermo Scientific Precision shaking water baths support a range of sensitive life science and QA/QC applications – from warming fragile reagents to tissue culturing and genetics sequencing. Easily clean and maintain your bath with new coil-free interior. The Precision shallow form shaking bath has a removable tray that allows for use with smaller sample containers. Precision Dubnoff shaking water baths are designed specifically for applications that require your samples to be incubated in a controlled atmosphere.
This Fisher Scientific Isotemp 655D gravity-convection incubator has digital readout and steady, unobstructed airflow and efficient heating. Designed for drying & staining of slides, tissue culture work, incubation of antibody tests, curing, pharmaceutical stability tests, microbiological determinations, crystallization studies, incubation of hydroxy-steroids and similar applications. Has a tight fitting, transparent tempered inner glass door to allow you view specimens without disturbing chamber temperature.
This chamber has been designed to help improve the accuracy of P.C.R. and general Tissue Culture procedures. The chamber is a "still air enclosure" which contains both fluorescent and U.V. germicidal lamps. The U.V. system is rated at 254 nm and will decontaminate all surfaces of the interior. The front viewing panel is .500 (13 mm) thick optically clear material. It is extremely effective for protection against 32P labeled compounds. It is very effective against Beta Rays but not Gamma rays. Front plate is replaceable. The doors are removable therefore do not take up valuable laboratory counter workspace.
