This chamber has been designed to help improve the accuracy of P.C.R. and general Tissue Culture procedures. The chamber is a "still air enclosure" which contains both fluorescent and U.V. germicidal lamps. The U.V. system is rated at 254 nm and will decontaminate all surfaces of the interior. The front viewing panel is .500 (13 mm) thick optically clear material. It is extremely effective for protection against 32P labeled compounds. It is very effective against Beta Rays but not Gamma rays. Front plate is replaceable. The doors are removable therefore do not take up valuable laboratory counter workspace.

The MJ Research Alpha Slide ALD-0211 Thermal Cycler is engineered to adapt to the diverse needs of modern laboratories. This thermal cycler is designed as a swappable sample-block/heat-pump assembly, capable of customizing any DNA Engine line thermal cycler. The ALD-0211 is equipped with a thermal cycler base which efficiently distributes electric power, as well as thermoelectric heat pumps and sensors which help control sample temperatures. The ALD-0211 Thermal Cycler meets NIST-traceable standards with its ability to provide outstanding temperature uniformity using multi-sensor, multi zone temperature controls. Designed for humidified chamber hybridizations and in situ procedures, the Alpha Slide ALD-0211 system thermally cycles glass microscope slides in a dual-block format, with each block accommodating up to 16 slides.
The WAVE Bioreactor system has been used extensively for monoclonal antibody production. Culture can be started at low volume and then fresh media added whenever the cell count is sufficiently high. This enables inoculum scale up without transfers. Batches ranging from 100ml to 500L have been run with cell densities over 10x106 cells/ml and productivity and product quality comparable to stirred tank bioreactors. Dissolved oxygen concentrations are not limiting and remain above 50% saturation.
Agitation in the WAVE Bioreactor system is powerful enough to mix and aeratethe culture. Yet it is gentle enough to cultivate anchorage-dependent cells on various microcarriers. The wave motion prevents setting and provides oxygenation without bubbles.
The WAVE Bioreactor system provides a closed system that is ideal for virus production. In a gene therapy application, human 293 cells have been grown in suspension and then infected with recombinant adenovirus. Cells grew to 4x106 cells/ml and virus production was 1x105 virus particles/cell. The WAVE Bioreactor system produces viruses under complete containment without the need for biosafety cabinet.
Insect cell / Baculovirus
The high oxygen supply capability of the WAVE Bioreactor system makes it ideal for insect cell culture.Cell densities over 9x106 are routinely achieved. Baculovirus yields are higher than with conventional bioreactors. The WAVE Bioreactor system is extremely easy to operate and inoculum scale-up and infection can be done inside the bioreactor, reducing the need for transfers.

Benchmark’s PlateFuge™ is the first “mini” sized centrifuge with a swing out rotor for microplates. Centrifuging plates before PCR ensures all reactants are in the bottom of the wells for proper concentrations and improved yields. In spite of its remarkably small footprint (9×10 in.), the PlateFuge™ includes a uniquely designed, swing out rotor (patent pending) capable of securing 2 microplates. The easily accessible rotor chamber includes two plate carriers that rest at a 75° angle. This allows plates to be inserted confidently without sealing tapes or caps. Upon closing the lid of the centrifuge, the rotor accelerates and the centrifugal force “swings” the plates into a horizontal position. Any droplets on the walls of the plate quickly concentrate into the well bottoms. With a g-force of 600 xg, most samples can be spun down in less than 20 seconds. To end a run, simply open the lid and the automatic, electric brake brings the rotor to a quick, smooth stop in just 4 seconds. Plates can then be easily removed from the rotor.
