Description
The BioTek PowerWave XS2 is a single-channel absorbance microplate spectrophotometer designed for high-precision measurement across 96- and 384-well microplates. It uses a xenon flash lamp paired with a high-precision diffraction grating monochromator, providing continuous wavelength selection from 200 to 999 nm in 1 nm increments without the need for interference filters — effectively giving users hundreds of built-in filter options. The instrument supports a range of read methods, including endpoint, kinetic, multiwavelength, and spectral scanning, and offers an extended absorbance dynamic range of up to 4.000 OD with fine 0.0001 OD resolution. It’s controlled through BioTek’s Gen5 software for both operation and data analysis, and its compact, rugged design makes it well suited to both standalone benchtop use and integration into automated, high-throughput systems.
